The Tale Teller by Anne Hillerman
I love this series that takes place on the Navajo Nation in New Mexico. If you enjoy mysteries, Native American lore, and ensemble casts of characters, I think you’ll enjoy this book.

Resistance Women by Jennifer Chiaverini
Will this be my Fiction Book of the Year? It’s too soon to say, but it is absolutely a top contender. If you enjoy historical fiction, you will want to get your hands on this book. Highly researched, this story is based almost exclusively on real-life men and women who fought the rise of Hitler at the gravest personal risk. Eye-opening. Riveting. Highly recommended!
Books I’m Loving | Nonfiction
The Matriarch: Barbara Bush and the Making of an American Dynasty by Susan Page
I loved this delightful, respectful, straightforward biography. What a picture of a strong, intelligent woman and the influence wielded by a wife and mother.
The Home Edit: A Guide to Organizing and Realizing Your House Goals by Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin
This one is for those of us who feel a spark of joy at the sight of a well-organized drawer or shelf. I found this book relaxing and motivating, and can’t wait to go re-organize our bathroom drawers. Full of gorgeous photos and tips to bring beauty and order to our life. It even comes with a set of lovely labeling stickers!
The Hands-On Home: A Seasonal Guide to Cooking, Preserving & Natural Homekeeping by Erica Strauss
This packed resource celebrates the art of homemaking. Following the four seasons, we learn about cooking, preserving, home care, and personal care appropriate to each season. I love the simple recipes and no-nonsense advice for a thrifty, eco-friendly, simple life. Very enjoyable read with lovely photos throughout.

Battles of the Heart: Boot Camp for Military Moms by Tracie Ciambotti
Here’s one for all my military mom friends. This helpful, encouraging, and brutally honest book is part military primer, part memoir, and part Bible study. I devoured it in one gulp and plan to return and go through slowly in the coming weeks.
Have More Fun by Mandy Arioto
Subtitled How to Be Remarkable, Stop Feeling Stuck, and Start Enjoying Life, this book is a call to embrace life. I enjoyed this encouraging and thought-provoking invitation to build relationships and add fun at every opportunity. You’ll find oodles of simple ideas for making fun a priority and creating joyous memories. Highly recommended.
Beholding and Becoming: The Art of Everyday Worship by Ruth Chou Simons
Beholding and Becoming is a call to behold God in his glory and beauty, and become ever more Christlike. It is a stirring reminder to set our heart on what is truly worthy of worship.

Invited is a hospitality book that digs deep, a call to build community and belonging. The message of this book is much needed in our fractured, lonely society, and I highly recommend it.
