As a young adult I was taken aback by the barrage of trials and difficulties that came into my life. I was probably in my late thirties or early forties before I realized, “Aha. This is just what adult life is like: difficulties are a normal part of life and I must choose how I will respond.
I know. Slow learner, right?
Help, I’m Drowning: Weathering the Storms of Life with Grace and Hope by Sally Clarkson is a lovely and encouraging book for Christian women of all ages. If I could give it ten stars, I would. Sally’s latest book is a call for us to embrace our storms with courage, conviction, faithfulness, and hope. As I read, I was struck by the wisdom of purposefully creating “life anchors” to prepare for times of difficulty.
I highly recommend this book. Scroll to the bottom of post for more book recommendations and post links.
Circumstances will come our way, and we always have a choice to make. We can choose to give up, or we can have hope.”
