Hydrangea Stripe Blanket Reveal
I’m excited to share my Hydrangea Stripe Blanket with you today!
I began this project over a year ago and put it aside when summer arrived. Once cooler temperatures arrived, I worked on it briefly in the fall before putting it aside once again in order to do the January Crochet Along for the Woodland Walk Blanket.
Immediately after completing the Woodland Walk blanket, I returned to crocheting this. What an immensely enjoyable project from beginning to end.
Here it is about halfway finished. Aren’t these colors gorgeous? This pattern was designed by Lucy at Attic24. Her color choices are always imaginative and lovely. It never fails that there are a few colors that are not my cup of tea, and yet I discover they add a spark to the palette.
Previous Attic 24 Blankets
I have crocheted four blankets from Lucy’s patterns on Attic 24. My first project was the Granny Stripe. I highly recommend this pattern for someone who is new to blanket crocheting. The color scheme is vibrant and cheery and the pattern was straightforward. Lucy’s tutorials are detailed with numerous photographs, definitely the best instructions I’ve found.
Next, I crafted the Moorland Stripe Blanket. The colors of this blanket were inspired by the Yorkshire Moorlands. I loved all the purples in this project, but grew a bit weary of the greens and browns.
I’ve already written in detail about the Woodland Ripple Blanket, which I worked as a crochet-along and completed in February. The colors were not ones I would typically select, and the pattern was tricky to figure out. However, once I did some frogging and re-crocheting several times, it started to go at a steady pace. You can read about the entire process here, here, here, and here.
Ta-Da! My Latest Masterpiece
And now I’ve completed the Hydrangea Stripe Blanket, and I think it’s beautiful. I love the scrunchy texture, and how cushy it feels. The pattern was so simple that I could easily carry on conversations or watch tv while working. And the colors! Raspberry, Mocha, Duck Egg, Pale Rose, Camel, Storm Blue, Vintage Peach, Pistachio, Denim, Mushroom, Meadow, Violet, Parma Violet, Cypress, and Grape made up the palette, and they made me happy. The mushroom has the palest tint of lavender…oh, it is lovely.
If you’re interested in making any blankets, I recommend you check out Attic 24. All her patterns are listed in alphabetic order down the lower left sidebar of her site, and she is continually adding new projects. Wool Warehouse in the UK offers yarn packages specially curated for the projects. I have ordered from them at least six times and have always received my packages quickly.
Absolutely beautiful! It would be awesome to curl up under one of your gorgeous creations! I admire your talents and your work ethic.Heirlooms to pass down to your family!
Thank you, Audrey!
