October Joy Journal | Blogtober 2021
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Welcome, October! I love you.
Ohhh, yes! I’m such a fan of October. Summer–at least summer in Oklahoma–is not my jam. The heat and humidity wring me out and leave me in a lethargic asthmatic puddle of inertia. But as soon as the temps and humidity drop, I find myself coming alive again.
I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
–L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
Welcome to the October Joy Journal! I decided to try something new and participate in “Blogtober”, which is a challenge to write a blog post every day for the month of October. I wrote a post yesterday (you can find it by clicking here Transforming Your Thought Life for Teens Review). Obviously, I’m a bit belated, since we’re already a few days into October, but here we go.
October Joy Journal Day 2
I’ve entitled my Blogtober writing the Joy Journal, because I hope to share little things that are bringing me joy this month. Books, music, foods, Bible verses, podcasts, and fun activities–simple things. If these writings encourage you to find a bit of joy, then I’m very happy.
To start things off, here are links to a few posts that may encourage you, followed by some books I’ve been loving.

Thank you for joining me as I share my October Joy Journal each day this month. If you’re on my email list, I do NOT plan to send out every blog post. I will send out one blog post per week. Please come to my blog or my Facebook page each day to read that day’s post. I’d love to hear what is bringing joy to you this month!
Please contact me through the comments, my social media accounts, or via my email at kimturnermcculley@gmail.com. How can I encourage and serve you? I’d love to hear from you. You are invited to follow my social media! Click to follow on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter. Please follow this link to join the community and receive my posts in your inbox!
I would love to pray for you. Please send prayer requests to kimturnermcculley@gmail.com.
What a blessing this morning – a grey, drippy morning here – but always looking for joy! Especially joy in the simple things! I love the idea of your joy journal!! And look forward to your posts throughout the month (phew, quite the challenge!) Have a wonderful day –
Oh, thank you for the encouragement! I’m glad someone is looking forward to my ramblings, lol.
I love your subject…Joy! Reminds us all to look for joy. We can find it when and where we least expect it!
Absolutely!
