So, I’m sure you’ve heard about the She Reads Truth Bible. As we’re wrapping up the month of March and my blog focus on Spiritual Growth, I thought it would be interesting to give you a tour through my copy of this Bible.
I’ve shared about my devotional time, and how I regularly use the She Reads Truth app, which I recommend. After much deliberation, I decided to purchase a copy of the She Reads Truth Bible just before Christmas.
My biggest hesitation was that it’s only available in Christian Standard Bible version, and I’ve come to love the ESV. However, I do find benefit in reading from different versions of the Bible, and this is a reliable translation: faithfully translated while being easily readable.
Beautiful Artwork Throughout
If you’ve used the She Reads Truth app or purchased any of their study materials, you won’t be surprised to find that this Bible is full of beautiful artwork highlighting key verses throughout. I love how this catches my attention and causes me to pause and focus on the Scripture. I’ve discovered this adds to my devotional time.
Color-Coded Edges
If you look carefully, you’ll see the color coding on the page edges at the beginning of each book. Each genre of books has its own assigned edge color: Pentateuch green; Historical dark blue; Wisdom and Poetry peach; Major Prophets teal; Minor Prophets dark teal; Gospels blue; Church History orange; Pauline Epistles baby blue; General Epistles light peach; Apocalyptic black.
This system makes it quicker to find the book you want.
Charts
For visual learners and thinkers, there are many charts, timelines, and maps. This is helpful in understanding the big picture, how everything fits together. I find this brings clarity.
Introductory Information
I love studying cultural, historical, and geographical context for each book of the Bible, so these book introductions are a favorite feature. These introductions discuss the timeline, authorship, and background for each book, the key verse, and the central message of the book. There is also a prayer to pray as you begin studying.
Study Guide
This feature is my favorite. Each book of the Bible is broken into bite-size increments for study, with cross-references to deepen your understanding of the big picture. My goal is to study through the entire Bible in this way. I plan to read about fifty pages per week in order to read the Bible through in a year. I find myself coming away with something fresh every day. This is the first time I’ve focused on integrating the cross-references into my daily reading. I highly recommend it!
Devotionals
Sprinkled throughout the Bible are devotionals to assist you in applying the verses you’re reading to your daily life. These devotionals are based on the nearby passage and contain several other passages for further study. You can also see the large margins available for note taking.
Bible Reading Plan
At the back of the Bible, there is a handy plan to read through the Bible in a year. I like how they’ve broken it down so you’re reading from both Old and New Testaments daily. I already shared above the plan I’m using to read through the Bible this year, but I like this one too. Another time!
You’ll also find a subject index at the back. If you were doing in-depth study, you would want a separate Concordance that is more substantial.
It is my prayer that this post is an encouragement to you. If you’d like the She Reads Truth Bible but it’s not in the budget…
I encourage you to start right now today and study the Bible you have.
Please share what book of the Bible you’re studying right now. What are your favorite study aids or tools? Pens, highlighters, colored pencils? Do you have a color-coded marking system? I’d love to hear about it!

I LOVE this!
I’m so glad! Thank you for commenting.
I love the way you used flowers. Beautiful! I am currently studying Mathew and love the renewed insights it gives me leading up to the crucifixion. This Bible seems to be one I would enjoy.
The Gospels are especially meaningful to study at Easter time, aren’t they?
Thanks for an inside-look at this Bible, Kim. I’ve seen it mentioned many times and have been curious about it. It’s beautiful! 🙂
