Woodland Blanket Crochet Along Ta-Da!
The Big Blanket Reveal
Remember way back in mid-December when I invited you to join me in the Attic 24 Crochet Along? I was looking forward to beginning the project on January 5.
In the beginning, it looked like a wad of lime green chain stitching. But it gradually grew…
And grew…
And grew!
I spent countless enjoyable hours rhythmically hooking yarn. I found it especially pleasant to have something creative and beautiful to while away the time, since I’ve spent much of 2018 under the weather. I may not have accomplished much, but I’ve made a lovely blanket!
I found this pattern tricky for quite some time, until I re-read the pattern and found the tip to make sure the middle stitch of the five spaced out double crochet stitches lined up with the middle stitches below. That made a huge difference for me, and lessened my frustration level considerable. I still had a few wobbly spots, but I fudged a bit here and there and made it work nicely.
I continued to steadily crochet for a while almost every day, until I ended up with…
A Finished Blanket!
Here’s a close up of the completed edging. I’ve folded it over so you can see front and back edging; I love the look of both sides. These autumnal colors are not my favorite palette, but will make a lovely Christmas gift for someone who does prefer those colors. Did you catch that? At the end of February, I already had a Christmas gift ready to go. Woo hoo!
Here’s a colorful pile of blankets I’ve made during Crochet Alongs with Attic 24. Bottom to top: Woodland Blanket, Granny Stripe Blanket, Moorlands Blanket. The basket contains yet another Attic 24 pattern in progress, the Hydrangea Stripe Blanket.
Aren’t these colors gorgeous? I enjoy every working every stripe. I’ll let you know when this one is done, too. Until then, Happy Crafting!
